Another mother sacrifices her childs life for love.

I saw on the news tonight that some guy was charged with killing his girlfriends one month old baby. One month old. That’s an especially hard thing to get your mind around. I’ve known several guys who were locked up for killing someone. Most I met in prison, a few I knew out here in the world. I told you about Clyde who committed a brutal multiple murder. His case was similar to the others in that they killed their peers and by peers I mean people who were generally involved in the same type of life as their killer. I don’t need to know all of the details of Clyde’s crime to know that if the victims were hanging out with a guy who stole a bunch of cocaine then its a good chance they were involved in the same lifestyle. They put themselves in harms way , guilt by association. Don’t get me wrong, none of that makes their murders any less of a tragedy. But it does give you something to get your mind around, it makes it at least comprehensible.

So when the news tells us of this latest murder of an innocent, or of the father who recently tossed his children off a bridge into a river and their death, its something we cant fully grasp. There isn’t anything to get your mind around. The first thought in most minds is that someone needs to punch the killers ticket. I tend to agree, in cases involving the calculated murder of a child the death penalty is the only answer. It doesn’t change anything, it cant bring anyone back from the dead, its revenge plain and simple, and I’m okay with that .

I don’t know the details of this D bag who killed the baby. Even though all of the details aren’t in and he hasn’t had his day in court its just a formality , we all know he did it. The story is becoming all to common, and it has all the earmarks of the same sad scenario. Woman with child meets scumbag, leaves scumbag alone with child, child dies. In a perfect world the mother would face charges as well. In an even more perfect world she would have her tubes tied in a square knot so she could never produce another potential victim. Instead the media will interview her or some trashy relative on the courthouse steps, blubbering about what a tragedy it all is. Bullshit. Someone , the mother ,a family member, someone , anyone, should have stepped up before this ever happened.

I wont be surprised as the details unfold to hear that the mother was a victim of domestic violence at the hands of her Childs killer. Some will argue that she was a victim as much as the baby was. She didn’t leave him out of fear, etc. Its a common story and it is pure unadulterated bullshit. The truth is that any woman who allows her child to be battered or murdered is guilty of complacency and lacks the humanity that instinctually says protect your child at all cost. The claim that fear prevented her from being a MOTHER just wont wash.

I hope that I am wrong about how the details of this tragedy will play out. But I doubt that I am and most of you probably doubt it as well.

  1. Kill em all. Mommas too.

I don't let ANYONE meet my son until we've dated for at least six months or so. I'm a total freak about it. I'm telling you now, that man wouldn't even make it to court if it was my child. He would be one dead s.o.b. one way or another.

I hear stories that lifers in prison don't have much to worry about. ; )

  2. Adult male bears try and kill the cubs so they can mate with the mother and have their cubs raised and not someone elses. I saw this tidbit on tv not too long ago. You see this time and time again, the new man kills the child of the previous man. Its like Ambitiious alluded to, you've gotta be careful.
