Heavy Metal Mutton, AlumaLamb anyone? Where is MM? Today is a triple header.

Okay, I'll be the first to admit that these mystery pictures are probably lamb, I mean lame. But you get what you pay for, and last I checked the coffers at the Midtown Miscreant Feed the Parolee Foundation were empty.

This first set of pics are clearly of two metal sheep. You may recognize them right away, I don't need the exact street address on this , just a general location. Don't ask me why these things fascinate me, but they do. It probably is a hold over from my childhood days when I thought Bo Peep was a hottay.

This photo is so nondescript that it could be anywhere in the inner city. So a couple of hints are in order. The building is located on 31st street , one block east of troost. It is the birthplace of one of Americas most recognizable icons.

Finally, thank God, the last one. The face on the wall is in the mission hills area. If you grew up in the last thirty years, you might have trick or treated here.

Again, I think my efforts have been lacking in the WMM series, Ill try to come up with something better in the future, or kill the thing and pretend it never happened.

  3. gabe, correct
    meesha correct.
Laugh a gram , or laugh O gram studios, where Walt was a struggling artist. The story goes that he would watch a mouse scurry around, named it Mickey and the rest is history. Shame it is in such a state of disrepair, but there was some group working on repairing and preserving it. Cant see that they had much luck.

  4. Last one must be Mr. Kauffman's former residence?

  5. anon, you are correct, must have been the clue. I never noticed those faces in the wall in front of his mansion, there are several of them, but I thought the king was the most fitting.

  6. MM-

If memory serves, I believe it was Butch Rigby's bunch that had tried saving the Laugh-o-Gram building. I know it had boards supporting the outsides for a while, but I'll be damned if I ever say anyone doing any work on it.
