Fetch My Flying Monkeys is a blog I read daily, she is hella funny and often offensive, which is why I like her blog. She put up a post about a little girl with an inoperable brain tumor. Her mother died last year of cancer. She is confined to a hospital bed. Her one big pleasure is receiving cards. So while you are out today, or this week, shopping and preparing for the Holiday, pick her up a card, maybe a small stuffed toy or something. Send it to Hannah Garman 259 North Reading Rd. Ephrata, Pa. 17522 . It's a small act of kindness, and something that all of us can afford to do. I'll expect some comments assuring me that all of my readers aren't a bunch of heartless douche nozzles, there's only room for one of those on this blog, and I've got dibbs on that role.
I also should ad that as a child those flying monkeys on Wizard of Oz scared the bejesus out of me, and they still creep me out.
What kind of cards does she like?

ReplyDeleteI have a 4-year-old daughter. She loves Disney princess cards. She thinks the Hoops and Yoyo cards at Hallmark are hilarious. Basically, she likes any of the cards that play music because she can't read yet.
ReplyDeleteThanks for helping to get the word out! Hopefully Hannah gets tons of cards. I personally had to go out and get some cards suitable for a 4 year old. Not that my regular Christmas cards are racy or anything, but traditionally they contain curse words and things like reindeers killing people and such. Hey, what can I say? 'Tis the season.
