Elvis would have been 75. I was a fan of the later Elvis, the bloated, drug addled, self parodying Elvis. As you can see the King was alive and well on Hollywood Blvd back in 05 when I paid him a fin for this photo. Sure he looks shorter, and possibly mixed with Asian or Filipino, but that shit was just a ruse to keep from blowing his cover. The thing about the King, his history seems to have repeated itself. How so MM? Well I'll tell you how so. Micheal little smokies Jackson, that's how so.
Both started out wildly talented, all American, idolized by many. They fell victim to their own fame, Elvis got fat and high, Jackson got white and high. Elvis was banging Priscilla when she was underage, Jackson had a taste for underoo clad boys. Elvis married Priscilla, Jackson married her and Elvis daughter, though you'll never convince me he peeled her panties. They both doped themselves to death, and the world blamed the doctors rather than the two dope fiends. Elvis still has millions of now middle age and older women who swoon at the mention of him, and who will call you out your name if you slander the King. Jacksons fans will repeat that same loyalty in the future.
So here is a happy birfday to the King of Rock n Roll, or whatever.
elvis lives!
ReplyDeleteHe was, and still is, the King.
ReplyDeleteMy cousin was one of the reasons he swore he would never come back to KC. There is a picture of her on the front page of the Kansas City Star (or maybe the Times) which shows her in a frenzy trying to drag him home.
ReplyDeleteSo happy birthday and it's safe to come back again as Connie has calmed down quite a bit since the 1950s.
Mark-Your comparison is on the $$$.
ReplyDeleteOne little thing regarding the last sentence though....Chuck Berry is the king of rock'n'roll.
