I was just about to head out the door when I caught a short piece on Fox 4. In celebration of Black History Month, the douchey Paul Hurtner, misspelled I don't care, was interviewing Pat Williams owner of M&M Bakery at 31st just east of Cleaver Blvd. As Pat was showing some home baked cookies, choc chip, snicker doodle, oatmeal, and......Drum roll, a cookie he calls "These Nuts."
You heard it right, he said These Nuts on a live news program, and maybe I'm wrong, but there seemed to be a longer than usual pause by Hurtner, who by the way if he was any whiter he would be clear.
***** For my readers who are unversed on street vernacular,( These Nuts), is a derogatory term. It's like saying I got your _______ (whatever) ,right here, while simultaneously talking in a Jersey accent and grabbing your crotch******
Its this kind of stuff that makes me love Black History Month , that and the way the ass hatted rednecks get their bib overalls in a bunch. Ive got to admit, if pressed for my honest opinion on black history month, I've got mixed feelings. On the one hand in the not to distant past, the role African American history played in text books and schools was relegated to slavery, civil war and George Washington Carver, so there really was a need to enlighten folks on the true role played by Blacks in the history of this country. That said I think American history should give full accounts, credit, etc. as it relates to Americans as a whole. Labeling and separating American history by racial and ethnic classes, has a somewhat divisive ring to it.
My personal opinion may well be wrong headed and maybe I'm just trying to give more credit than is due when it comes to the progression of attitudes and view points relating to race in the 21st century. Either way, Ive got no problem with Black History Month. Besides the awareness it brings about the roles of Blacks in history, it gives me ample opportunity to taunt and ridicule anyone making the following statements.
There is the often touted and totally ridiculous " If whites had a White History Month, we would be called racist" This gem of retardness will invariably be followed by " You never hear of The United White College Fund" or " If we had a W.E.T. White Entertainment Television, they would call us racists" I'm hoping to find some of these pearls of ignorance in my comment section when I get home, so I can make snarky rebuttals.
Despite what many on both sides of the racial divide say, I think we have come a long way Baby. I also believe that the playing field has been leveled to some degree, but there is still work to be done. So as a self appointed representative of forward thinking white folks, I would like to offer an olive branch to all of the scarlet necked, red man chewin, pistol packing, white supremacist Americans, and to the equally stoooopid, I hate Whitey, clinch fisted Free Tookie, black racists.
I think all of you clowns should do lunch at the M&M deli on east 31st. Have one of Pat's famous "The Hookup Sandwich", and don't forget to get your hands on and your mouth full of " These Nuts", you'll be glad you did. And really how can you hate someone after you have shared a mouth full of These Nuts.
I would also suggest a healthy serving of Pat Williams' Chocolate Salty Balls. Mouthwateringly good. .
ReplyDeletelol everytime I read "these nuts" I had to keep reading it as follows: "theeeeezzzzzzzz nuhhhhttttttsssssssss" lol Wtf is wrong with me. lol
ReplyDeleteAs a subscriber to Dish Network, I'm fairly certain there is a W.E.T. channel.
ReplyDeleteBut not in the context you are referring to.
MM, I love it. I know Pat Williams. I know him quite well. I pretty much know the whole family. They are some good people and the bakery is pretty good too.
ReplyDeleteI've got tears rolling down my face reading that "Deze Nuts" reference. You're right. If Paul Hurtinher could get any more white, Mike Thompson would say, "we've got clouds in studio."
