Spitzer resigns. The emperor has no clothes. He left them at a hookers apartment.

Governor Spitzer has stepped down . I was reading these reactions on the AP. You would think from all the sympathy and accolades the guy was just diagnosed with cancer, rather than caught spending an alleged 80 grand on hookers. His supporters will soon be talking about all of the great things Spitzer did, his years of public service, his prosecution of criminals, what a great man he was. After all he is only human , he made a mistake, right? Not so fast, hold the praise and ease up on the horse shit, time for a reality check. Visiting a hooker once or twice could be attributed to a lapse in judgement, a mistake if you will. Spending an estimated 80 grand on hookers cant be written off as a mistake. Even at the exorbitant prices he was paying, 80 grand represents a long string of trysts and can in no way be seen as a mistake.

There is a lot of talk that we should stay out of the personal lives of politicians, that what goes on behind closed doors has no bearing on how well he or she does their job. And that is true to some extent. If the secretary of agriculture for example decides to go out and lease some WhoHaa from an Iowa hooker, I couldn't care less. But Spitzer was Governor of New York and a former Atty. General, not only should he lead a stellar life, he shouldn't place himself in compromising positions that could lead to blackmail or call his veracity into question. And as for the prostitution angle. Ive made my feelings known, I think it should be legal. That said, I think Spitzer should be hung out to dry. Here's why.

As AG of New York Spitzer prosecuted a dozen people involved in a prostitution ring. Case closed, end of story, he should be hung out to dry. Supporters of Spitzer will say that he is just a man, that he is human and after all, we all make mistakes. Bullshit, the only place Spitzer should find sympathy is in the dictionary between Stupid and Syphilis, which is apropos since there are allegations that Spitzer wasn't shrouding his Winky while he was cavorting with these high priced Puta's. Spitzer campaigned on a platform of high moral fortitude and accountability. It was all a sham.

Ive also heard talk that this is all a set up. Alan Dershowitz the high profile lawyer who defended Claus Von Bulow among other notable cases was Elliot Spitzers mentor, and he is crying foul. He claims that this is all payback from the many powerful people Spitzer targeted and ruined over the years. Spitzer as AG of New York was relentless in his pursuit and prosecution of white collar criminals, high finance figures with dubious business scruples and more than a few traders and brokers. It is said that Spitzer wasn't satisfied in just prosecuting the crime or imposing fines. Spitzer gave no quarter and would settle for nothing less than total destruction and ruin of anyone or any corporation he set his sights on. If the story ended there then you could say he was a tough prosecutor who made the bad guys pay. But Spitzer ruled with an iron fist, the usurper of the greedy and immoral , and he did it like a self righteous king from a throne based on his high morals and self proclaimed loathing of the people he prosecuted. And that is where he pissed in his Post Toasties.

Turns out the Emperor has no clothes. Governor Spitzer has turned out to be no better than the people he pursued and ruined. There is an unending list of Douche Bags who claimed to be the protectors of morality and symbols of truth, only to turn out to be as crooked as a barrel of snakes. From television Evangelists, to pompous drug addicted radio hosts like rush Limpballs, from wide stance republicans, to dress staining presidents, they have shown themselves to be the exact opposite of what they professed to be. Spitzer is just one more phony prick to be added to the list. Frankly Ive got more respect for the common thief than I have for guys like Spitzer. At least with criminals you know where you stand.

  1. Just got back from supper with a couple girlfriends. The Jewish one said she was sorry that he was Jewish. I said I was sorry he was a Democrat. I found that interesting. I guess even though I'm Catholic I really don't care what religion you are. Hope it works for you. But what a person is politically seems to affect mer more. But I really don't like the better than you attitude Spitzer had/has. Do as I say not as I do. That kite don't fly with me.

  3. I don't feel sorry for the dickhead. He has multi-millions but apparently he needs more satisfaction than money can buy so he sought out power. Look at all the rich bastards that aren't satisfied with their silver spoons. They seek out the power that their money can buy because that's a whole new level of satisfaction, very commonly seen in politicians. However, when the power and now fame he gained as a politician didn't satisfy him, he sought out hookers. Why? Cause that's a whole new level of power. The hookers he bought weren't dime store blows, they were the best of the best and he could make them do anything because he had money and he had prestige. He could even make them risk their health to satisfy his desires. Complete control.Until the bastard got caught.

My punishment for him would be something like putting him on a chain gang to break up rocks with his reward being bread and water and an occasional chicken head stew just to keep him healthy enough for the next days rock pile.

  4. MM,
Spitzer is not going to jail for paying $4k for a ho. Its a misdemeanor! And just because he prosecuted similar cases in the past doesn't mean we can impose stricter penalties on him, (although the urge does exist).
Spitzer is going down for money laundering, that's why the Fed's are involved. His bank turned him in, remember? Bank's don't turn people in for $4k at a time. There is so much more to be revealed. THEN we can jail him for many, many years.

  7. Wow, 80 large for a Ho. I've seen her pictures, and she is attractive. I'm just not sure what a woman could do for me to earn 80K. Wait, I do know. She would have to do me, paint my house, fix my car, and do my job as well.

  8. I just returned from a trip to Central America. I wish Spitz had checked with me first and I could have saved him a lot of trouble. I could have steered him to many 20-yr old students down there who would have been glad to service him for $10. Good looking, fun, and willing, they all are. They are not prostitutes, just looking to make a little extra money. And, the populace in general does not see anything wrong with this.
So, let's assume $800 for a round trip ticket. 20 "sessions" at $10 per. $1000 for each trip. One trip a month. He could have made it trough 2 terms without getting into trouble if he'd just checked with me first!!!
As an aside, although these girls were not prostitutes, prostitution is legal in most countries in Central America as it should be in the states!
