Kidnapping in Lone Jack?

Let me get this straight. If Fox 4 is reporting this correctly , a 10 year old boy is claiming he was kidnapped by 2 black men, from his backyard in Lone Jack Missouri. The kidnappers then released him just 2 miles from his home, unharmed. The lone Jack police are all over this one like white on rice.

I'm not going to say this didn't happen, but I don't think it happened, ooops , my bad. Anyone familiar with Lone jack knows it as a little speed trap on 50 highway about 10 minutes or so east of Lees Summit. Their claim to fame other than the single digit police dept. is a civil war museum, and an ex police chief that was dipping in to the ya-yo, (coke), who if I recall correctly was sent packing to rehab, cant recall if he was ever charged with anything. Anyway, I'm not knocking Lone Jack, its just another really rural little town where not much ever happens, until now.

I'm no Kojak, although I've got the hairstyle for it, but something smells fishy in this kids claim. I actually lived for a very brief time in Lone Jack during my tenure with wife number 2. My stay there was almost as short as my marriage, about 10 months. I never saw a single person of color in Lone Jack, unless you count a crimson colored neck, of which there were more than a few, police included. One of the reasons I left lone jack was constant police harassment. I got a ticket for rolling through a stop sign, at 5 miles an hour or so, in the middle of nowhere. When the cops ran me and discovered my less than stellar history, I found myself face down on a gravel road while they did their best imitation of Pac Man from the movie Colors, from then on these mullet heads pulled me over every time they saw me, and I was white, still am. My point is that there aren't a lot of black folks in the area, let alone roving packs of black kidnappers. I'm not calling the kid a liar, but i think he is lying, ooops, I did it again.

Okay time to cut the tip toeing around the subject. kidnappers don't generally turn the abductee loose two miles down the road. They don't generally snatch 10 year old boys from their back yards in rural areas. And they don't generally commit their crimes in areas where they will stick out like Louis Farrakhan at a tractor pull. I could be wrong, but my guess is that the youngster decided to run away or take a unauthorized trip down the road. Family friends found him out of bounds and he concocted the story to save himself some punishment. Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

Who loves ya baby!
**** disclaimer**** Before I get a bunch of hate mail, which I secretly like, let me just say that while I have taken a skeptics view on this alleged kidnapping, I don't think kidnapping is a laughing matter or to be taken lightly. If it turns out I'm proven wrong, I will be the first to admit it and apologize. But this story just doesn't ring true.

  1. I don't know.... I've told my mom several times if anyone ever kidnapped my little brother, it wouldn't take long for them to turn the little turd loose.

  2. I'm going to also call bullshit on the kid's story. Methinks he was just out doing something he shouldn't have been doing, and made up the kidnapping story so he wouldn't get into trouble.

If he were my kid, I'd spank him until my hand fell off. Then, I'd send him to Utah to live with the Utah Mormons. That should be punishment enough.

  3. Okay! I live in Lone Jack and I have heard this story. Obviously you have been in Lone Jack in a while becasue there are plenty of colored people in my area. on Average, 2,000 children are kidnapped every day. It does not matter where you live, there is no discrimination when it comes to the sick freaks out there!
My children told me last week that they had seem 2 black men that they did not recognize int he woods behind my house, i disregarded these comments and then 3 days later i hear about the little boy that claimed he was kidnapped. It is because of people like you that downplay the seriosness of this because it is such a small town, that makes them criminals target towns just like this. You should be ashamed of yourself that you would say such horrible things when the world today is so messed up!

  4. What I meant above was that you obviously have NOT been to Lone Jack in while.

  5. Who knows what to believe??? However, the police have no choice but to believe the kid until proven otherwise. Doesn't it seem strange that the kid said he was taken from his back yard instead of the street, etc. What's behind his back yard, the woods, as anon above mentioned? And taken 2 miles...by what, foot?
There is a lot more to be learned about this story I'm sure.

  6. There are alot of woods in the area in Lone Jack. Like I said, my kids, days before this happened came into our house all freaked out saying that there were 2 black men in the woods that that were acting weird and it scared them, then this happened. It kind of makes you think a little doesn't it? It is very possible with the way the houses are in Lone Jack that this could very well be true but to downplay the extreme problem that we have with all the kidnappings and murders are obsurd! Why would a 10 year old make up such a horrible story? AND..it was also said that this child had duct tape taped on his mouth.

  7. Have you done anymore research on this by the way?

  8. What are "colored" people?
    Good God.
I don't know if there are "black" people in Lone Jack, but it appears there are a few ignorant ones calling the place home.

  9. Now I'm curious about the "extreme problem" with all the kidnappings and murders happening in Lone Jack. WTH? Why have I never heard of this place before, yet there's some "extreme problem" there?

Why would a 10 year old make up a story? Um, 'cause that's what they do sometimes at that age? Any kid that's going to make up a story about being kidnapped might also think to pop some duct tape on their mouth. Sheeit.

It might be too coincidental that this anonymous person's kids happened to have the same thing happen to them days before this 10 year old popped up with a story about a couple of black guys kidnapping him. I'm inclined to think that maybe it happened. I'd be MORE inclined if it wasn't some anonymous doof telling their livin' in Lone Jack story, though...

  10. Look. Did the kid get kidnapped or didn't he? The parents should be able to tell if the kid is lying. Hell, my kids try to lie to me everyday and I can tell by the way they look at me what they're up too.

There are a lot of parents (rural and urban) that don't know one iota about there kids (see post from Tuesday. The one about uneducated inner-city kids. Not the one about the birds.) So in the end I guess I wouldn't be surprised either way.

My second point is that a bunch of "colored" people living in an area doesn't make the cops, and the "crackers" living in that same area racially tolerant.

  11. I made a long winded response to the comments, and now it has disappeared, so here I go again.

Anon. I doubt you have very many African Americans / Blacks in your area, or you wouldnt be calling them colored. That went out in the 70's, try to keep up okay.

Other Anon. 2 black guys lurking in the woods? Not if they were city folk, we dont lurk in the woods, in fact we steer clear of woods, and Im white. 2 black guys in the woods in a town famous for its civil war/ confederate leaning sympathys, I think not.

On an added note, the FBI is investigating the case, I guess we will see if Im eating Crow stew soon.

Edward, misspelling and grammatical errors are allowed in the comments section, as my spell check doesnt work for me here, so I cant take a high handed approach.

  12. I'm the mother of the kid that got kidnapped last Friday... I know when my kid is lying. At first I actually kind of wish that this was a lie. I was looking for it to be at first. Only because I could not even imagine what he went through. But unfortunetly I believe my kid 100%, only because there was no need to lie, and he's staying 100% consistant with his story that he's telling the police and family, friends. This is not a joking matter and to call someones bluff on this kind of matter is childish. Do you have kids? Can you just picture this with me a moment. My son is 10 he's a good boy that stopped holding hands with me 2 years ago. Since this has happened he squeezes my hand when we are walking through the parking lot, he tells me he gets scared when he sees a black car with tinted windows, he's afraid to go outside without someone there with him. With lies there are inconsistancies, there have been none. With lies there is guilt, there is none. You can think what you want. I believe my son. God bless..

  13. Maybe you are right, maybe not, either way I never said he was a bad kid, just a kid. Ive got a 28 year old son and a 13 year old daughter, so yeah, I know a little. Best of luck to you how ever it turns out and Im glad your boy is doing well.

  14. First of all, I did not say there was a problem with kidnappings in Lone Jack, I meant that there is a problem period. ( if you had any common sense you would have got that)I am so sorry that i called black people colored.BIG DEAL!!!!!!! Ibelieve my children also. They were very shaken up about this. LIke the mother said, if you had kids, you would know when your kids are lying.

  16. Well now, this was an interesting batch of comments. The trouble with "anonymous" commenters is that they could be anybody. I'm not taking either side, just saying it's interesting.

  17. "It is very possible with the way the houses are in Lone Jack that this could very well be true but to downplay the extreme problem that we have with all the kidnappings and murders are obsurd!"

YOUR words, anony, not mine. It's not a matter of "common sense" to try to decipher what some anonymous loser is saying in a blog's comment section. Re-read your sentence, and you'll see that the way YOU wrote it, it sounds like you're saying that Lone Jack has some significant issue with kidnappings and murders. Not my problem you're a crappy writer.

And to the mother of the 10 year old, hopefully everything works out for you. My experience with kids is limited...but if this actually happened to your child, hopefully things will get better for him soon.

  18. It just amazes that there has to be skeptics that have no personal knowledge of someone and run to their computer to write a negative blog based on THEIR bad experience(s). I also, am a relative of this youngster. My family KNOWS & BELIEVES beyond a shadow of doubt that our young family member is a sweet, good boy that is close to a dream child. He is NOT the type of child that would lie about something of this matter. He is smart and loving. This kidnapping has nothing to do with race, the location, or a bad kid trying to get attention. How dare ANYONE question what happened to our family other than the professionals that have more facts than have been given to the public to rip apart or judge without knowing ALL the facts. ONE reason this story made the paper is; it is a fact; our children in this world are not as safe as they once were and parents need to know this information so they can watch out for their own. As a functional citizen it is our duty to watch out for all children and our neighbors, regardless of where you live. Until it happens to you and you know what it feels like to have the bottom of your heart fall out, then how can you be so judgemental? Someone we love very much was hurt emotionally and is extremely blessed to of got out alive when he did. To all you good parents, thank you for caring, and hold your children close to your heart and soul. As for the skeptics with all your whiney experiences about a "small white town" I feel sorry for your absence of compassion and intelligence. I also feel sorry for your kids and family if anything out of the ordinary happens to them. I pray this happens to no one, but it does. We Love Our Kids and Family!

  19. since the initial news reports there has not been one mention of this case. there have been no composite sketches, no statements from the fbi or lone jack. Im sorry , but i still maintain it doesnt ring true. time will tell.
Im sure he is a good kid, and Im glad he is well.

  20. Please give us any updates on this story. I'm really curious.

  21. This sounds a lot like the "kidnapping" in SE Kansas within the last couple of years where a good kid said she was kidnapped at gun point. Turns out she was hiding in the woods all day. Still think it smells a little fishy.

  22. I love how the focus of some morons is the police there. They are damned if they do, and damned if they don't. They are ignorant for believing such a story, yet when they question a story, and something happens, everyone crucifies them, that they missed leads or didn't believe what was being told. Oh and I am sure Lonejack Police put that dumbass face first on the gravel for rolling through a stop sign. Good grief, at least make the story a LITTLE more believable, or are you leaving out the part where you were intoxicated, refused to stop, and then ran your mouth upon them contacting you. You're full of @#$&.
