Imagine you own a couple of 10 unit apartments in midtown. Built in the thirties, greek revival meets art deco. Big columns 4 stories tall grace the front of each of the two buildings. Each unit still adorned with the original art deco fixtures, huge windows, clean Ivory colored walls, the original oak floors. Lets say you leave the country , leave your son in charge of collecting rent and upkeep. You come back and find one of your apartments looking like this.
By the way, those walls aren't stone, the tenants painted each individual brick on a plaster and lathe wall. Oh, and the checker board lime green floor, original hardwood, that looked pristine prior to being paint raped.

I'll leave you with those few glimpses of what some "artist" did to my Landlords property. To the landlords credit, he took it like a trooper. The pictures don't do justice to the carnage. By the way , it's for rent, 580 a month, and he says he will leave it just like it is!
I'd rent that place in a second!
ReplyDeleteI actually like the floor, but that's it. I own a rental property and if my tenants did that crap I'd take them to court. Your landlord dude is a much nicer guy then I am.
ReplyDeleteIf you rent to KCAI students you'd better get double deposit at a minimum. And that's not bad rent. How many BRs? What the approx. square footage?
ReplyDeletehey MM...Im actually looking for a place. At the risk of the spamites overwhelming my e-mail...ill post it anyway. Any info you can give me will be great. new-mike@hotmail.com or ishouldbeinbed22@yahoo.com. Thanks!
