He is really a good kid, just a little misunderstood.

I picked this up from crime scene Kansas city, 15 year old boy kills 19 year old woman, shoots her in the head at his grandparents house. CSKC reminds us of two 13 year old kids also charged in murder cases in KCK this year. Kids too young to vote , but old enough to pull a trigger are nothing new, not here in a mid size metro area like Kansas City, or in a major city like LA, really its fairly common everywhere these days. There are some vicious, predatory, blood thirsty pups out on the street these days. The knee jerk reaction when we hear this type of news is to blame it on the ghetto, blame it on gangs, blame it on rap, blame it on the black folks. But wait, hold the fucking phone, what about the school shootings, or the joco kid who punches his moms ticket and almost does likewise for dear old dad? What about the moody, spoiled , black t shirted, pimple poppers that blast their schoolmates and teachers?



We can blame this shit on any number of ills, society, poverty, TV, video games , not being breast fed long enough, rap, emo, but those are bullshit excuses, except maybe for the Emo thing, because way too tight dark clothes can make you snap. I joke, but I shouldn't. The fact is , as anyone with half a brain knows, these little pricks were brought up by parents that should have been sterilized so they couldn't produce. They let their spawn run amok, they coddle little joey, Buffy, Dukwan or Shaniqwa, pick your racially stereotypical name, and even when they fuck up, when their kid finally turns on them or some innocent bystander, they still blame it on everything and everyone else. Gimme a fucking break already.



Here's the rub, the thing that really gets me. White parents will deny, deny, deny. Oh, my child didn't do that, it's all a big mistake, it was someone else, or it was peer pressure, I believe in my child, Casey Anthony anyone? Black parents, while taking a different approach, will invariably recite the same rhetoric, it was the lure of the gang, it was the harshness of the streets, it was because he was black and targeted by the cops. With me so far, pissed anyone off yet? Good.



Want to know why parents of bad kids have such an unending list of people and circumstances to blame for their child being a piranha on legs? Because the truth hurts like a thousand paper cuts dipped in rubbing alcohol. Because the truth is, the parents didn't care in the first place. The parents failed to care enough to say NO. It was easier to give in than to put a foot in their ass. It was more palatable to blame being poor, or being misunderstood, or to blame Uncle Bad touch. It's no surprise that these kids have no sense of accountability when their parents, their role models have an infinite number of excuses.

So let's don't use the ghetto, or suburban angst as the reasoning behind the unspeakable shit that some kids do. Kids have been bullied, lived in poverty, grown up in fatherless homes, since Christ was in Kimbies, and for the longest time they didn't go postal and spray the school lunchroom with bullets, or do drive by's on their Schwinn's. Sometimes a soft and gentle approach just doesn't get it, sometimes being your kids friend wont get the proper response. Instead of taking the Doctor Spock approach, try the Doc Martin method, a resounding NO and a boot in the ass.
